London, BABY!

April 2, 2017

Back in March I headed down to London to photograph the most FAB wedding! I thought I'd share with you what I got up to whilst I was down there. Check out Kate and Gau's wedding blog here.

I got the train down from Preston the day before with my trusty second shooter for the weekend, Erin Singo of Erin Photography. We arrived into London Euston and from there we headed to where we were staying, The Refrom Club on PALL MALL. The Reform Club is a Gentlemen's club that has been there since 19th century. With it being a Gentlemen's club, it doesn't have a sign outside! Of course we didn't know this and must have walked past it about 10 times before realising where it was! Finally we got in and were shown to our very posh room, which much to our confusion didn't have a key! We had an amazing view of Big Ben and the London Eye. I could have sat for hours looking out the window being nosey, but duty calls!!

The Queen had invited us for afternoon tea and scones over at her's at 3pm, so we went there to just show our face for a bit, couldn't be rude could we! Later that day we wondered round Covent Garden and then went for dinner at Jamie's Italian just around the corner from Leicester Square. The food was absolutely amazing, I had Gennaro's tagliatelle bolognese, sorry mum, but it was the best bolognese I've ever had!!! I would 100% recommend going to Jamie's, the food and atmosphere was brill :)

Being in London we had to go and see a show. We managed to get some last minute tickets to the Jersey Boys and it did not disappoint. I've been singing the songs from the show ever since. Spectacular cast, set and music. I'd totally go and see it again and again.

Oh and how could I forget, a few hours earlier, we bumped into my old friend Joanna bloody Lumley!! She was in Piccadilly Circus, we were in such shock we didn't manage to get a picture of her, so you'll have to take my word that we saw her!

Day 2. Woke up. Got up. Went for a posh breakfast at the Reform Club. Breakfast good! Very full. Needed nap but no time! Drank coffee. Went to meet Groom. Took pictures. Went for coffee at the Black Penny. Ate cake, drank more coffee. Cake amazing. Coffee superb! Went to meet Bride. Took pictures. Went to ceremony. Bride and Groom got married. Woop, woop! Took some more pictures. Ran from the In and Out Club to Reform Club. Took more pictures. Nearly got ran over. Wedding reception. Group pictures done, BOOM! Food. Speeches. Cutting of the cake. Dancing. Took more pictures. Then took some more pictures. 12am. Finished photographing. Praise the lord! Danced some more. Ate m&m's. Took smelly shoes off. Eww!! Backed up pictures. Watched Ant and Dec. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Day 3. We were both shattered after the wedding, but still headed out into London for the day. We nipped for some breakfast at Flat White, Soho. Nice coffee and the bacon was pretty 'top notch'. The sun was out, but it was still freezing! We braved the artic temperature and jumped on open top bus. We took in the sights, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, and St Pauls Cathedral. It got a bit cold after a while so hopped off near the Embankment and had a wonder down past the Tate and This Morning. Phil and Holly weren't in on the Sunday, which was a shame!

Anyway, all good thing eventually come to the end. So after another long day being a tourist around London, it was was time to get the train home to Preston. Great weekend! I hope I'll be back in London again soon!

In the mean time, sit back and have look through a few pictures I took over the weekend.

Put this tune on in the background whilst you scroll through.

Taken just after tea with Queeny!

This is not my hand, nor my coffee, nor my picture! Credit to Erin!
