A year ago today I headed up to the Lakes to photograph this amazing couples wedding. This was one of the first weddings I ever shot on my own and has been one of my favourites ever since.
Their wedding took place at the stunning New House Farm, located about 10 minutes away from Buttermere Lake. We went down to the Lake to do a few portraits of the two of them on the day. We had been down to the lake prior to the wedding for their pre wedding shoot a couple of weeks before. The day we went, we had the place to ourselves, the lake was perfectly still and the air was silent. On the day of the wedding I squeezed Chris and Sophie in the back of my dinky Fiat 500 with the roof down. It was a beautiful summer day, red hot! Ramblers, dog walkers, tourists, families and sheep were all out in force. The place was packed. Luckily the images I took didn’t make it look that way.
The day was full of love for the happy couple from all of their family and friends, most of who had travelled from the Fylde Coast and further a field to be there. Chris and Sophie had decorated the barn themselves adding special touches and memories from the both of them all around. Sophie works at a Primary School and she had got her pupils to decorate some bunting which was hung outside the barn, just one of the personal touches they had.
Chris and Sophie both stayed at the barn the night before and on the morning of the wedding, it was great for me to be able dash between Chris and Sophie’s little cottages to capture them getting ready.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually blogged many pictures from their wedding so I thought to remember their special day I would share a few of my favourites. Info about suppliers are at the bottom of the page.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and once again, Happy Anniversary to you Chris & Sophie!
